At the time’ Arthur Martinez, Sears Merchandise Group chairman and chief executive, interned a venture with Pierre Rogers, who was leaving the French cosmetics company Lancôme, where he was president of its vast American business, to  make sears a more woman friendly environment…

That’s where the fun started…

I was informed by Sid Dauman (Dauman Displays founder & president) that we are meeting with the former president of Lancôme to discus building a series of store within a store for sears.

Later that day we met in Sid office/conference room which was fashioned lousily after Charles Revson (Sid’s late friend) war room at Revlon’s offices in General Motors building on 5^th avenue … To be continued
